Who will be the next US Soccer President?

We are roughly 3 weeks away from the US Soccer Presidential election.  The names listed below have made it to the final 8 candidates but only 1 can win.  Most Americans recognize some but not all these names.  With hope that come February 10th there will be a new president with new plans to get America back on track.  2017 started out promising with Bruce Arena winning more than losing but those two dreadful results down the stretch really made USA Soccer look in the mirror.  There have been mixed reviews of Sunil Gulati (current president) but there is no denying that in the first 3 terms of us presidency US soccer has made great strides.

Looking at the potential candidates, one has received more national attention that others….HOPE SOLO.  Could Hope Solo really be the person to turn US soccer around?  She did not exactly leave the field on good terms, as she was given a 6 month suspension from the USWMNT.  Although she brings some great points to the table, some off her off the field antics might hold her back. The NASL has given their support to Eric Wynalda, a popular USMNT player from the 90’s.

The Full List of Candidates…

Paul Caligiuri, Kathy Carter, Carlos Cordeiro, Steve Gans, Kyle Martino, Hope Solo, Michael Winograd, Eric Wynalda
